Daniel Cohn Dies in Multi-Car Collision on SR-74 [Lake Pleasant, AZ]

Lake Pleasant, AZ (May 17, 2025) — 81-year-old Daniel Cohn of Chandler died, and three others suffered injuries following a three-vehicle crash Friday morning on State Route 74 near Lake Pleasant in Peoria.

Peoria Police said the collision happened around 9:47 a.m. on May 15 near milepost 23 close to New River Road. Investigators believe a westbound vehicle crossed the center line and crashed into two eastbound vehicles.

Emergency crews transported three people to local hospitals for treatment. Daniel Cohn sustained critical injuries and later died at a hospital.

Authorities said impairment does not appear to have contributed to the crash. Investigators continue working to determine the exact cause of the collision.

The crash shut down portions of State Route 74 for several hours while officers examined the scene. The roadway has since reopened.
