Modesto Man Daniel Trevarthen Killed in Santa Cruz Avenue Collision [Modesto, CA]

Modesto, CA (November 10, 2023) – Daniel Trevarthen, a 64-year-old Modesto man, was killed following a Santa Cruz Avenue collision Thursday morning,

The authorities received the crash report at about 6 in the 300 block area at the intersection with Mono Drive.

Responding officers located a white Chevrolet SUV and Trevarthen, unresponsive, lying in the southbound lane of the road.

Immediately, rescuers provided lifesaving measures but Trevarthen died at the crash scene.

Investigators said the Chevrolet was southbound on Santa Cruz Avenue approaching Mono Drive at an unknown speed.

At the same time, Trevarthen entered the intersection in a wheelchair where there was no marked crosswalk. 

The Chevrolet was unable to prevent the collision.

CHP officers said that it has not been determined if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
