Daniel Zayas of Lancaster Arrested in Deadly Crash on 50th Street E [Palmdale, CA]

Palmdale, CA (May 7, 2025) – The authorities arrested Daniel Zayas, 21, of Lancaster, following a deadly crash on 50th Street E Monday night.

It was around 10 p.m. when the deadly solo-vehicle crash happened on East Avenue P.

Investigators said Daniel Zayas was driving an eastbound 2004 Acura eastbound on Avenue P toward 50th Street East. Troopers said he was traveling at an unsafe speed and failed to stop at the intersection’s stop sign.

The vehicle drove the intersection and left the roadway, where it hit the fence and a dirt berm.

Paramedics rushed Zayas and one of his passengers, a 19-year-old Lancaster man, to Antelope Valley Medical Center.

However, Zayas’ second passenger, an 18-year-old man, also from Lancaster, was declared deceased at the scene. 

Police said the involvement of alcohol and/or drugs is being investigated as a factor in this fatal collision.

Anyone with information regarding the fatal accident was urged to call the CHP’s Antelope Valley office at 661-743-6060 during business hours or, after hours, the CHP’s Los Angeles Traffic Management Center at 323-259-3200.
