Danny Gonzales Lying in Roadway Fatally Struck by Car at Atlanta Avenue and Spruce Street

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (June 23, 2019) – A man who was lying in the roadway was killed after struck by a car Sunday evening in Riverside, police said.
 
The incident happened around 9:45 p.m. near the intersection of Atlanta Avenue and Spruce Street.
 
According to the Riverside Police Department, a white Lexus was traveling westbound on Spruce Street when it crashed into a male pedestrian who was lying in the roadway outside of a marked crosswalk.
 
Arriving units pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The Riverside County Coroner’s Bureau identified him as Danny Gonzales, 26, of Riverside.
 
Officials said the driver stopped and cooperated with authorities.
