1 Dead in Winton Pedestrian Accident on Winton Way and Gerard Avenue

WINTON, CA (November 22, 2022) – Friday night, a deadly crash on Winton Way and Gerard Avenue involved Darla Suzanne Peters.

The incident happened at around 7:12 p.m. in the area of Winton Way and Gerard Avenue.

According to reports, a vehicle struck the 73-year-old Winton man. Thus, responders took the patient to Doctor’s Medical Center in Modesto with major injuries.

However, at around 3:30 a.m., the man succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile, reports said that the man walked eastbound on Winton Way in a crosswalk, north of Gerard Avenue.

Also, officers said that 73-year-old Darla Suzanne Peters drove a 2020 Toyota Prius northbound on Winton Way, south of Gerard Avenue at about 35 mph.

Then, Peters failed to see the pedestrian in the crosswalk and hit him.

After the crash, Peters stayed at the scene and has been cooperative with the investigating officers.

Furthermore, officers determined that Peters was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the collision.
