Police Chase Ends in Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash in Placentia

Orange County, CA (January 23, 2026) – Darwin Bahamon Martinez, 21, was jailed following a deadly collision on Bradford Avenue Wednesday.

It was about 7:40 p.m. on January 21 when a chase started near Miraloma Avenue and Lawrence Avenue in Anaheim.

Traffic officers noticed a dark-colored Jeep Gladiator driven recklessly and almost collided with a parked car.

When the vehicle almost collided with the police patrol vehicle, the officers pulled the driver, Martinez, but he drove off as the officers walked up to his vehicle.

The chase ended when the Jeep crashed onto two cars at Bradford Avenue and Madison Avenue in Placentia.

The driver of one of the cars was declared deceased at the scene, while the other driver, an elderly woman, was rushed to an area hospital.

Troopers arrested Martinez on suspicion of causing the deadly crash.
