David Dellaquila Arrested in Fairplay Road Fatal Crash [El Dorado County, CA]

El Dorado County, CA (July 7, 2026) — 61-year-old David Dellaquila was arrested in a suspected drunk driving crash in El Dorado County that claimed the life of a woman Sunday evening.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 5:20 p.m. on Fairplay Road, north of Stoney Creek Road. Responding officers found an overturned 1959 MG coupe at the scene.

Investigators said the female passenger died at the scene. The driver, identified as Dellaquila of Fiddletown, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Marshall Hospital for treatment.

During the investigation, CHP determined that alcohol was believed to have contributed to the crash. Officers later arrested Dellaquila and booked him into the El Dorado County Jail on felony charges of driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter.
