Amarillo, TX (Amarillo, TX) – 61-year-old David Joe Daniels lost his life following a 3rd Avenue hit-and-run crash Monday night.

The deadly traffic crash happened at 10:35 at the intersection with Georgia Street.

Responding officers determined that David Joe Daniels, a 55-year-old man, and a dog, were hit by a white pickup truck that fled the scene.

The 55-year-old man sustained minor injuries while Daniels was transported to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Amarillo police is conducting a further investigation into the fatal crash.
