David Mendoza Arrested in Colony Street DUI Crash [Bakersfield, CA]

Bakersfield, CA (April 22, 2022) – On Wednesday, the authorities arrested David Mendoza, 31, of Bakersfield, in a DUI crash on Colony Street that injured two people.

The traffic accident happened minutes before 11:30 p.m. at the intersection with Panama lane.

According to the investigators, a patrol vehicle was on a green light and was turning south on Colony Street from Panama Lane. Suddenly, a vehicle driven by a male driver under the influence who ran a red light struck the patrol vehicle.

Immediately, the paramedics rushed the officer to a local hospital with minor injuries. Officers say the police K-9 wasn’t injured in the accident. 

The rescuers also took a passenger from the other vehicle to a local hospital with a minor injury.

Later on, officers arrested David Mendoza on suspicion of DUI and possession of a controlled substance for sale.
