46-Year-Old David Westman Dies in Pedestrian Crash Near Harbor Boulevard [Santa Ana, CA]

Santa Ana, CA (July 1, 2025) – 46-year-old David Westman of Santa Ana, was fatally struck in a shocking pedestrian crash near Harbor Boulevard.

According to police, the deadly collision happened around 5:30 a.m. near Harbor Boulevard and Hazard Avenue.

Officers responded to reports of a traffic incident and discovered Westman lying unresponsive in the southbound lanes of Harbor Boulevard.

Santa Ana police arrested a 63-year-old man for allegedly fleeing the scene after fatally striking a pedestrian early Sunday morning.

Paramedics from the Orange County Fire Authority arrived and pronounced Westman dead at the scene.

Investigators determined that Westman had been walking west across the traffic lanes when a southbound vehicle hit him. The driver did not stop and left the scene before authorities arrived.

The Santa Ana Police Department’s Collision Investigation Unit launched an investigation and, after following leads, located both the suspect and the vehicle in the city of Orange.

Officers arrested Miguel Ocampo, a Tustin resident, and booked him into the Santa Ana Jail on a felony hit-and-run charge. The investigation remains active.
