Thermal, CA (March 15, 2026) — 25-year-old Daysi Olivas from Thermal lost her life following a violent head-on crash on Friday afternoon that also left three others seriously injured.

According to authorities, the two-vehicle collision happened around 2:05 p.m. in the 58000 block of Fillmore Avenue near Avenue 58.

Emergency crews arrived to find both vehicles heavily damaged after the head-on impact. First responders treated four people at the scene before transporting them to nearby hospitals with traumatic injuries. Two victims were airlifted while the others were taken by ground ambulance.

Investigators said two men, a woman, and a minor were among those injured in the crash. Olivas later died from her injuries. Officials reported that she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
