San Jose, CA (August 7, 2026) — Early Thursday morning, a tragic accident on Highway 85 left a pedestrian dead after a vehicle struck.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened shortly after 1:30 a.m. near the Camden Avenue off-ramp.

Following the crash, CHP officers temporarily closed all southbound lanes and diverted traffic onto the Camden Avenue off-ramp while investigators worked at the scene.

Authorities reopened the highway, and all southbound lanes resumed normal traffic by approximately 3:50 a.m.
