Andre Kocher and Scott Mages Killed in Bicycle Crash on FM 455 [Pilot Point, TX]

Pilot Point, TX — Two bicyclists, Andre Kocher and Scott Mages, lost their lives Saturday morning after a deadly Crash on FM 455 in Pilot Point.

According to authorities, the fatal crash happened around 8:19 a.m. on FM 455 East near Fritcher Road.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene following multiple reports of the collision. Paramedics from Pilot Point and Celina attempted life-saving measures on both victims.

One bicyclist was transported to Celina Methodist Hospital, where he later died. Air medical crews flew the second bicyclist to Medical City Plano, but that victim also succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. It is currently unknown whether it was Andre Kocher or Scott Mages who was transported to the hospital.

Police reported that the driver involved initially traveled a short distance from the scene before returning prior to officers’ arrival. Authorities stated the driver has been cooperative as the investigation continues.

Later reports say the men were a part of the Frisco Triathlon Club, who were amidst a group ride when the fatal accident occurred.

The Frisco Triathlon Club is planning to host a Santa Fun Run to honor the lives of the cyclists. The run is to take place at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, December 24, at 9359 Legacy Drive, in Suite #300A in Frisco.
