Deadly Motorcycle Collision on Corralitos Road Claims a Life [Corralitos, CA]

Corralitos, CA (September 26, 2026) — On Wednesday, a 23-year-old Aptos man died after a motorcycle-pickup truck collision on Corralitos Road.

Authorities say that the collision happened at about 7:01 a.m. at the intersection with Merk Road in the unincorporated Corralitos area of Santa Cruz County.

Reports say that the man was riding a 2004 Yamaha motorcycle southbound on Corralitos Road when he collided with a 2000 GMC pickup truck that was turning left onto Merk Road from northbound Corralitos Road.

The motorcyclist suffered major injuries and was transported to a hospital. Despite lifesaving efforts, he later died from his injuries. The 61-year-old Watsonville man driving the pickup remained at the scene and was not injured.

Investigators had not determined the vehicles’ speeds, and authorities did not believe alcohol or drugs were factors at the time of the report.
