San Jose, CA (November 13, 2025) — A deadly collision on Highway 101 Monday night claimed the life of a 43-year-old motorcyclist from Gustine and left another driver injured.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened at around 8:46 p.m. on Highway 101, north of Capitol Expressway,

Reports say that the motorcyclist was traveling southbound when his motorcycle fishtailed for unknown reasons and crashed. A Kia traveling behind the rider struck both the motorcycle and the motorcyclist, causing the Kia to overturn. The motorcycle then collided with a third vehicle.

The motorcyclist died at the scene, while the Kia driver sustained minor injuries and received medical attention. Officials closed five southbound lanes for about three hours during the investigation and cleanup.

The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal crash.
