Lakewood, WA (February 9, 2026) — A fatal collision on I-5 in Lakewood claimed the life of a pickup truck driver Friday afternoon.

According to authorities, the crash happened around 4:10 p.m. near Bridgeport Way SW when a Chevy Avalanche struck a semi-truck. The impact caused the pickup to catch fire, trapping the driver inside. The driver died at the scene.
