Motorcyclist Killed in Early-Morning Crash on East U.S. Highway 290 in Austin
Austin, TX (June 13, 2025) — A fatal crash on Highway 290 involving a motorcycle and a vehicle claimed one life early Thursday morning.
According to the Austin Police Department, officers responded to the crash around 1 a.m. near the 9300 block of East U.S. Highway 290, east of Springdale Road.
Investigators said the crash involved a motorcycle and a vehicle. One person died as a result of the collision. Authorities did not immediately release the victim’s identity.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with responding officers.
The crash prompted temporary road closures while investigators processed the scene. Officials reopened the roadway later in the morning.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
