Deadly Head-On Collision on Highway 136 Claim Lives [Lancaster, MO]

Lancaster, MO (April 25, 2025) On Thursday morning, a deadly head-on collision on Highway 136 left 2 people dead.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the tragic incident happened around 11 a.m. on US Highway 136 east of Lancaster.

Reports say that a head-on crash between an SUV and a pickup truck resulted in two fatalities late Thursday morning.

MSHP reported that the crash occurred when a westbound SUV, driven by a 63-year-old Lancaster woman, collided head-on with a pickup truck driven by a 59-year-old man from La Plata.

Emergency crews pronounced the man dead at the scene. The woman was transported to Northeast Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries and later died that afternoon. Authorities confirmed the man was not wearing a seatbelt, while the woman was.

Both lanes of the highway were temporarily closed during the emergency response and investigation. The names of the victims have not yet been released.
