PHOENIX, AZ (May 26, 2026) – Sunday morning, Milson Marley Tessay died in a devastating 2-vehicle crash near 12th Street and Bell Road.

The incident involving two vehicles happened at about 1:22 a.m. near 12th Street and Bell Road.

Emergency crews arrived to find an SUV and a sedan with major damage following the collision. Authorities said the 18-year-old driver of the SUV suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Phoenix Fire Department personnel transported the 22-year-old driver of the sedan, identified as Milson Marley Tessay, to a hospital, where he later died.

Police said the SUV was traveling westbound on Bell Road at a high rate of speed when it collided with the sedan traveling southbound on 12th Street.

Investigators believe speed and impairment were contributing factors. Authorities said impairment is associated with the 18-year-old SUV driver, who remains hospitalized.

Officials said any charges will be determined once the investigation is complete.
