1 Dead in Stanislaus County Auto Accident on Gratton Road and East Avenue

STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (March 26, 2026) – Tuesday night, an 80-year-old woman died in a devastating 2-vehicle crash on Gratton Road and East Avenue.

The incident happened at about 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Gratton Road and East Avenue.

A preliminary investigation found a 16-year-old girl driving a Chevrolet pickup southbound on Gratton failed to stop at a stop sign before entering East Avenue.

The pickup struck a Honda sedan carrying a 76-year-old man and an 80-year-old woman. Both were taken to a hospital, where the woman later died. The man suffered serious injuries, according to CHP.

The 77-year-old passenger in the pickup was not injured. The teen driver had minor injuries and was not taken to a hospital.

Authorities said drugs and alcohol were not believed to be factors in the crash. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
