2 People Dead in Madera County Auto Accident on Road 145

MADERA COUNTY, CA (March 25, 2026) – Saturday night, a devastating 2-vehicle crash on Road 145 killed two people.

The incident happened at around 5:45 p.m. on Road 145.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a westbound Dodge Challenger lost control, crossed into the eastbound lane, and collided with an eastbound Honda CR-V. Then, a westbound Honda Accord collided with the Honda CR-V.

Moreover, responders pronounced the driver and a passenger of the Dodge, dead at the scene. Then, paramedics airlifted the driver of the Honda CR-V to a hospital with major injuries.

Furthermore, officers arrested the driver of the Honda Accord, who fled the scene, for hit-and-run and DUI.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued investigating the crash.
