1 Dead in Bourbon Multi-Vehicle Accident on Interstate 44 and Mile Marker 218

BOURBON, MO (May 10, 2026) – Friday night, a person died in a devastating 3-vehicle crash on Interstate 44 and Mile Marker 218.

The incident involving three vehicles happened at around 9:45 p.m. on eastbound Interstate 44 at Mile Marker 218.

Troopers said a westbound Ram 2500 pickup truck traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck cable barriers, and overturned into the eastbound lanes, where it was hit by an oncoming Ford Taurus. The pickup then collided with an eastbound Toyota Highlander.

A 64-year-old woman from St. James riding in the Ford Taurus was pronounced dead at the scene. The Taurus driver, a 56-year-old woman from St. James, and another passenger, a 64-year-old man from St. Robert, suffered serious injuries and were hospitalized.

No other injuries were reported.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, this was Troop I’s ninth fatal crash of 2026.
