Rider Killed in Devastating Bicycle Crash on Soquel Drive

1 Dead in Soquel Bicycle Accident on Soquel Drive near Porter Street

SOQUEL, CA (September 14, 2026) – Friday afternoon, a rider died in a devastating bicycle crash on Soquel Drive near Porter Street.

The incident occurred at about 3:46 p.m. on Soquel Drive near Porter Street.

CHP said the truck was traveling southbound on Soquel with the bicyclist riding just south of the vehicle when, for unknown reasons, the two collided.

The bicyclist suffered major injuries and was taken to a hospital, where they later died. CHP has not released the bicyclist’s identity.

Investigators said alcohol and/or drugs may have contributed to the crash, and the truck driver was arrested.
