Cesar Hernandez Chavez Arrested in Devastating DUI Crash on Highway 58 [Wheat Ridge, CO]

1 Dead and Several Injured in Wheat Ridge Auto Accident on Highway 58

WHEAT RIDGE, CO (October 28, 2025) – Last October 17, Cesar Chavez Hernandez was arrested in a devastating DUI crash on Highway 58.

The incident happened at about 7:00 p.m. on Highway 58 between McIntyre Street and Interstate 70.

Wheat Ridge Police said a westbound driver crossed the dirt median into eastbound traffic, hitting three vehicles. One person died in the crash, and three others were taken to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.

The at-fault driver, identified as 32-year-old Cesar Hernandez Sanchez, was hospitalized and later released.

Police said they are recommending multiple charges, including vehicular homicide, vehicular assault, DUI, reckless driving, driving without a valid license, and driving the wrong way on a one-way road.
