1 Dead in Agua Dulce Auto Accident near Sierra Highway and Anthony Road

AGUA DULCE, CA (January 8, 2026) – Tuesday night, Everett Turner died in a devastating head-on crash near Sierra Highway and Anthony Road.

The incident happened at about 6:18 p.m. near Sierra Highway and Anthony Road, a mile north of Agua Dulce Winery.

Investigators said the crash occurred on a two-lane section of Sierra Highway when a northbound driver attempted to pass other vehicles, crossed double yellow lines, and entered oncoming traffic. Two vehicles collided head-on, and the man who attempted to pass was pronounced dead at the scene.

The southbound driver, who was inside a Toyota RAV4, was trapped and had to be extricated before being taken to a nearby hospital in critical but stable condition, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Witnesses told the California Highway Patrol the vehicle that crossed into opposing lanes appeared to be traveling at more than 70 miles per hour. CHP said there was one occupant in each vehicle at the time of the crash.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as 54-year-old Turner of Canyon Country.
