MESA, AZ (July 1, 2026) – Tuesday, a person died in a devastating head-on crash on Broadway Road near Nina Drive.

The incident happened at about 11:35 a.m. Broadway Road near Nina Drive.

Broadway Road was closed in both directions between Extension Road and Westwood following a fatal head-on collision, according to the Mesa Fire and Medical Department.

Fire officials said the crash involved a pickup truck and an industrial vehicle.

One adult was pronounced dead at the scene, while a second person sustained critical injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
