17-Year-Old Boy Arrested after Rohnert Park Pedestrian Accident near Snyder Lane and Capri Way

ROHNERT PARK, CA (December 1, 2025) – Saturday night, an elderly man died in a devastating hit-and-run crash near Snyder Lane and Capri Way.

The incident happened at about 6:35 p.m. near Snyder Lane and Capri Way.

Police and firefighters arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Witnesses told officers the man had been in the crosswalk when a pickup truck struck him and kept going. Surveillance footage and vehicle parts left behind led investigators to believe the suspect was driving a lifted black Chevy Silverado from 2014 to 2018 with chrome wheels.

With that evidence, police identified a suspect. Rohnert Park Public Safety officers and detectives then served a search warrant at a home in Petaluma. They found the suspected driver, who was booked into the Sonoma County Juvenile Detention Facility on charges of vehicular manslaughter and failure to stop at the scene of a fatal crash.

The victim’s name has not been released. Because the suspect is 17 years old, police will not release his identity.
