1 Dead in South Sacramento Pedestrian Accident on 2600 Fruitridge Road

SOUTH SACRAMENTO, CA (July 1, 2025) – Monday night, a woman died in a devastating hit-and-run crash on 2600 Fruitridge Road.

The incident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian happened just before 9:30 p.m. in the 2600 block of Fruitridge Road.

According to Sacramento Police, a woman was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by a vehicle. Authorities say the driver left the scene before officers arrived.

Fruitridge Road was shut down between 24th Street and 28th Street as investigators processed the scene. 

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
