1 Dead in Fresno Motorcycle Accident on Dakota Avenue and Fruit Avenue

FRESNO, CA (July 2, 2026) – Wednesday night, a person died in a devastating hit-and-run crash on Dakota Avenue and Fruit Avenue.

The incident happened at about 9:00 p.m. on Dakota Avenue and Fruit Avenue.

A motorcyclist in his 30s died after a collision with a sport utility vehicle at the intersection of Dakota and Fruit avenues in Fresno, police said.

Investigators said the motorcyclist was traveling west on Dakota Avenue around 9 p.m. when an eastbound SUV turned left onto Fruit Avenue and struck him. Police said both vehicles had a green light at the time of the crash.

The rider was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Police said the driver fled the scene in a silver SUV with front-end damage and was last seen heading northbound. The driver’s status remains unknown.

The victim’s identity has not been released. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Fresno Police Department.
