1 Dead in Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident on Roberts Lane and Plymouth Avenue

BAKERSFIELD, CA (October 9, 2025) – Wednesday morning, a man died in a devastating hit-and-run crash on Roberts Lane and Plymouth Avenue.

The incident involving a pedestrian and a vehicle happened at about 1:05 a.m. on Roberts Lane and Plymouth Avenue.

CHP said a preliminary investigation determined a black Honda Accord was heading east on Roberts Lane, west of Plymouth Avenue, at an unknown speed when a 36-year-old man crossed the eastbound lanes outside of a marked crosswalk.

For reasons still under investigation, the pedestrian walked into the path of the Honda and was struck. The driver fled the scene after the crash.
The pedestrian sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators later located and seized the suspect vehicle based on witness statements, but the driver remains at large, according to CHP.
