1 Dead in Shannon County Motorcycle Accident on Highway 19

SHANNON COUNTY, MO (March 17, 2026) – Sunday morning, an 18-year-old Winona man died in a devastating motorcycle crash on Highway 19.

The incident involving a motorcycle and an ambulance happened at about 8:35 a.m. on Highway 19, six miles south of Winona.

Troopers said an 18-year-old man from Winona was riding a 2005 Yamaha motorcycle northbound when it collided with a southbound 2023 Ford ambulance that was making a left turn.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 32-year-old ambulance driver from West Plains was not injured. Authorities said both individuals were using appropriate safety devices at the time of the crash.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol noted this marks Troop G’s fifth fatality of 2026, compared to six at the same point last year.
