1 Dead in Berkeley Motorcycle Accident on Interstate 60 and University Avenue

BERKELEY, CA (December 1, 2025) – Sunday afternoon, a devastating motorcycle crash on Interstate 60 and University Avenue killed 1 person.

The incident involving a motorcycle and a car happened just after 3:05 p.m. on the eastbound side of Interstate 80, west of University Avenue.

Officers arrived to find the motorcycle rider had been ejected from the bike and landed on the westbound side of the freeway. The rider died from their injuries.

According to the CHP, the motorcycle was involved in a collision with an Acura TSX and a Honda Accord. Everyone involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The cause of the crash is still under review, but alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors.

Several lanes in both directions were closed while crews investigated and cleared the area. Authorities expected the lanes to reopen after 7 p.m.
