AUBURN, WA (September 29, 2026) – Monday afternoon, a 24-year-old Kent man died in a devastating motorcycle crash on State Route 167.

The incident happened at about 1:00 p.m. on State Route 167.

Troopers said the motorcyclist was traveling south when he attempted to change lanes and was hit by another vehicle. Reports confirmed that the impact threw him from the motorcycle. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the motorcycle faces vehicular homicide charges, WSP said. It was not immediately known whether alcohol or drugs played a role.

All southbound lanes of SR-167 were closed near Auburn for more than four hours. WSDOT said the roadway was cleared around 4:07 p.m.
