2 Dead in Compton Multi-Vehicle Accident on Atlantic Avenue at Los Angeles River Pass

COMPTON, CA (July 3, 2025) – Friday last week, 2 people died in a devastating multi-vehicle crash on Atlantic Avenue.

The incident happened at 9:19 p.m. on Atlantic Avenue at Los Angeles River Overpass.

Two people were killed in the head-on crash involving four vehicles, according to reports. At least one vehicle had multiple patients trapped, and the driver of that vehicle was later declared deceased at the scene and covered with a sheet.

Reports also indicate that at least two other individuals were transported to the hospital, though the extent of their injuries is unclear.

All lanes of Atlantic Avenue are currently closed between the 91 Freeway and Alondra Boulevard as Compton Fire Department and LASD Compton continue to investigate and clear the scene.
