4 People Dead in Austin Traffic Accident on Highway 130 near Maha Loop Road

AUSTIN, TX (December 4, 2023) – Sunday afternoon, a devastating multi-vehicle crash on Highway 130 near Maha Loop Road killed four people.

The incident happened at around 4:15 p.m. in the 10500 block of the South State Highway 130 service road northbound, near Maha Loop Road.

According to the Austin-Travis County EMS, the crash involved multiple vehicles.

Moreover, ATCEMS responded to the scene and performed life-saving measures on three patients, but to no avail. Then, paramedics pronounced four people, dead at the scene.

Also, responders airlifted one person to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center with serious, potentially life-threatening injuries while another patient refused further treatment at the scene.

Furthermore, authorities asked everyone to avoid the area and to find alternate routes.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
