ARCADIA, CA (April 14, 2026) – Sunday night, a person died in a devastating pedestrian crash on 210 Freeway and Madre Street.

The incident happened at 9:30 p.m. in the eastbound lane of the 210 Freeway and Madre Street.

The California Highway Patrol said a woman called to report she may have struck a person.

Another witness told authorities a pedestrian had been hit while running across traffic lanes. The pedestrian was later found in the slow lane and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to CHP.

Footage from the area showed the body covered by a white sheet in the far right lane, with a truck from the Pasadena Fire Department positioned nearby.

CHP issued a SigAlert at 10:45 p.m., closing all eastbound lanes at Madre Street and redirecting traffic off the freeway. The HOV lane along with lanes 1 and 2 reopened at 12:26 a.m. Monday, while the remaining lanes were cleared and reopened by 1:30 a.m.
