PHOENIX, AZ (August 17, 2025) – Thursday night, a devastating pedestrian crash on 24th Street and McDowell Road killed one person.

Reports said that the incident happened at around midnight on 24th Street and McDowell Road.

According to the Phoenix Police, a southbound truck struck a male pedestrian who was crossing the roadway against the light.

Moreover, responders pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.

Furthermore, the driver of the truck initially left the scene, but returned about an hour later and was arrested pending charges.
