HOUSTON, TX (August 25, 2026) – Sunday night, a woman died in a devastating pedestrian crash on Gulf Freeway near Edgebrook Drive.

The incident happened at about 7:53 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Gulf Freeway near Edgebrook Drive.

Police said a caller reported the woman running along a service road. An officer found her in the southbound service road lanes and instructed her to move out of the roadway, but she continued running across the freeway.

The woman made it past the southbound lanes and HOV lane before she was struck by a pickup truck in the northbound lanes. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The pickup driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
