AURORA, CO (August 4, 2025) – Saturday night, a devastating pedestrian crash on Interstate 225 and East Iliff Road killed 1.

The incident happened at about 11:15 p.m. on the northbound lanes of Interstate 225, south of East Iliff Road.

A 62-year-old man was killed while trying to cross Interstate 225 in Aurora, according to police.

Investigators said the man was attempting to cross the northbound lanes from east to west during heavy traffic when he was struck by one vehicle and then run over by a second. He was taken to the hospital, where he died.

Both drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police said speed and intoxication did not appear to be factors.

Northbound lanes were closed at Parker Road during the investigation and reopened around 2 a.m.
