1 Dead in Van Nuys Pedestrian Accident on Sherman Way and Sherman Circle

VAN NUYS, CA (September 23, 2026) – Friday morning, a 30-year-old man died in a devastating pedestrian crash on Sherman Way and Sherman Circle.

The incident occurred at around 3:45 a.m. on Sherman Way, west of Sherman Circle, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a dark-colored SUV on Sherman Way, according to police.

Police said the SUV was traveling east on Sherman Way when it hit the man, who was crossing outside a marked crosswalk. The driver continued east without stopping to identify themselves or provide aid.

Another motorist who witnessed the collision stopped and contacted authorities. The pedestrian was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries. His identity has not been released.

A $50,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the driver’s identification, arrest, and conviction.
