1 Dead in Prescott Valley Pedestrian Accident on State Route 69 and Prescott East Highway
PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ (August 4, 2026) – Monday, a person died in a devastating pedestrian crash on State Route 69 and Prescott East Highway.
The incident happened on State Route 69 and Prescott East Highway.
According to the Prescott Valley Police Department, a pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle.
Officers responded to a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash and found the victim with serious injuries. Despite treatment by fire and medical personnel, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The preliminary investigation indicates the pedestrian was crossing the roadway outside of the right of way when the collision occurred. Police said the driver remained at the scene, cooperated with investigators, and showed no signs of impairment. Speed does not appear to have been a factor.
The roadway was temporarily closed while officers investigated the crash and later reopened to traffic. The investigation remains ongoing.
