COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (December 29, 2025) – Saturday, a person died in a devastating rollover crash on Powers Boulevard near Platte.

The incident happened on Powers Boulevard near Platte.

Cimarron firefighters first reported on social media that they responded to a rollover crash in the area. Colorado Springs firefighters later confirmed that one person was trapped in the wreck and had to be rescued.

Colorado Springs police said an SUV was traveling northbound on Powers Boulevard when it crossed the center median and collided with a southbound sedan. Police confirmed that the person who was trapped and transported to the hospital later died from their injuries.

Powers Boulevard was shut down south of Platte Avenue while crews investigated the crash. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
