FORT WORTH, TX (April 2, 2026) – Sunday afternoon, a young child died in a devastating scooter crash on 1900 Portland Street.

The incident happened at about 3:00 p.m. when a five-year-old girl rode her scooter in the 1900 block of Portland Street.

Police said a 5-year-old girl rode a scooter down her driveway and into the street, where she was struck by a vehicle leaving the area.

Officials said the child was thrown and ended up beneath a parked car across the street.

The driver stopped and performed CPR until emergency crews arrived.

The girl was taken to a hospital, where she later died.

Authorities have not said whether any charges will be filed.
