1 Person Dead in Sacramento Multi-Vehicle Accident on Jackson Road near Ione Road

SACRAMENTO, CA (January 15, 2025) – Monday night, a devastating three-vehicle crash on Jackson Road near Ione Road killed one person.

The incident happened at around 6:49 p.m. on Jackson Road east of Ione Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a northbound Toyota collided with a westbound Buick. Then, the force of the crash pushed the Buick into the eastbound lane where it collided head-on with a Ford pickup.

Moreover, responders pronounced the male driver of the Buick, dead at the scene. Then, paramedics rushed the female driver of the Ford to an area hospital with major injuries. Also, the driver of the Toyota sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Furthermore, officers do not believe that impairment played a role in the incident.

Meanwhile, the crash blocked both directions of Jackson Highway but has long since reopened.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information, the CHP continued investigating the crash.
