1 Dead in Grand Prairie Auto Accident on 800 Mayfield Road

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX (August 5, 2025) – Sunday night, a devastating traffic crash on 800 Mayfield Road killed 1 person.

The incident happened at around 10:40 p.m. in the 800 block of Mayfield Road.

Police said a Toyota passenger car was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and hit a power pole.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by Grand Prairie Fire Department medics. A second passenger was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while a third passenger was not hurt.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after notifying the next of kin. Traffic investigators are still looking into the crash.

Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
