KINGS COUNTY, CA (August 4, 2026) – Sunday afternoon, a devastating traffic crash on Highway 198 near 7th Avenue killed one person.

The incident happened at around 3:00 p.m. on Highway 198 near 7th Avenue.

According to reports, a westbound Toyota Tacoma drove over a paved center divider into the eastbound lanes, where it collided with a Honda Civic. Then, the force of the crash pushed the Civic to collide with a Toyota Corolla. Then, the Corolla crashed and rolled over into a field.

Moreover, officers confirmed that the driver of the Civic died in an ambulance on its way to Kaweah Delta Medical Center. Then, paramedics transported the three passengers of the Tacoma to Adventist Medical Center with unknown injuries.

Furthermore, officers said that two occupants of the Corolla were transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center with unknown injuries.
