BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 22, 2023) – Friday morning, a devastating two-vehicle crash on Pacheco Road and Akers Road killed one person.

The incident happened at around 12:10 a.m. on Pacheco Road and Akers Road.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, a northbound vehicle collided with a westbound vehicle for still unknown reasons. Then, the force of the crash pushed the northbound vehicle to lose control, struck a fence then rolled over, ejecting the male driver in the process.

Moreover, responders pronounced the driver of the northbound vehicle, dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported a female passenger of the northbound vehicle and a female passenger of the westbound vehicle to a hospital with unknown injuries.

Furthermore, officers believe that speed played a major role in the crash.
