1 Dead in Lincoln Heights Auto Accident on Golden State Freeway and Main Street

LINCOLN HEIGHTS, CA (June 16, 2026) – Monday morning, a person died in a devastating vehicle crash on Golden State Freeway and Main Street.

The incident happened at 3:40 a.m. on the southbound Golden State Freeway, just north of Main Street.

According to Elizabeth Kravig, the California Highway Patrol’s online log did not clearly indicate how the person died.

The log showed a van parked on the right shoulder and a person outside the vehicle.

The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert at 3:59 a.m., closing all southbound lanes except the fast lane and diverting traffic at Broadway.

One lane reopened at about 5 a.m., while the remaining two lanes reopened around 6:55 a.m., according to CHP.

The incident remains under investigation.
