TRACY, CA (March 2, 2026) – Saturday afternoon, a driver died in a devastating vehicle crash on Highway 4 near Old River Bridge.

The incident occurred at 3:49 p.m. on Highway 4 near Old River Bridge in Tracy.

A red Chevrolet truck traveling west on Highway 4 crossed into the eastbound lanes near the Old River Bridge, according to the CHP. The driver braked and struck an eastbound work truck.

The work truck then sideswiped a motorcycle that had been behind the Chevrolet and overturned into a canal.

Authorities said the work truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcyclist sustained minor injuries.
