Woman Injured in Disastrous 2-Vehicle Crash on El Paseo Road

Injuries Reported in Las Cruces Auto Accident on El Paseo Road and Farney Lane

LAS CRUCES, NM (July 15, 2026) – Tuesday morning, a 67-year-old woman sustained injuries in a disastrous 2-vehicle crash on El Paseo Road and Farney Lane.

The incident involving two vehicles happened just before 9:00 a.m. on El Paseo Road and Farney Lane.

Meanwhile, the Las Cruces police and fire personnel were dispatched to the scene.

Police said the woman, who was driving west on Farney Lane and crossing El Paseo Road, was trapped inside her vehicle after it was struck broadside by a sedan driven by a 20-year-old woman. Firefighters extricated her from the vehicle before she was taken to a Las Cruces hospital and later airlifted to University Medical Center of El Paso.

Authorities said the woman remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

The 20-year-old driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Preliminary investigators believe one of the vehicles may have entered the intersection against a red light. Police also said the 67-year-old driver was not wearing a seat belt, which may have contributed to the severity of her injuries.
